An Austin resident of Cherokee descent inherited a mysterious bible from her father. She is intrigued by what appears to be Cherokee writing in the bible, and wants to learn more about her own family's history. A beautiful, worn banjo was purchased by a Chicago resident on an online auction. A tattered note inside says the banjo dates to the mid-1800s and was bought from a former slave in Bethel, OH, by an abolitionist family some time after Emancipation. Could this be the only slave banjo known to exist? A California resident came across a family tree, which contained the words "United Empire Loyalist" scribbled alongside several names. She began her own investigation and discovered that the United Empire Loyalists were descendants of the more than 50,000 people who fled to Canada following the defeat of the British in the Revolutionary War. A woman in Missoula, Montana, bought an old fiddle case in the Montana mining town of Butte in the 1960s. She was told the case actually held a scale that Chinese immigrants in the area had used for weighing opium. Trade in opium was legal in the U.S. until 1909; it was commonly used both as a medicine and as a drug. The Chinese were among the first immigrant groups to arrive in Montana in the 1800s, working on building the railroads, as gold miners and in restaurant and laundry businesses. History Detectives heads to Montana to find out how Chinese immigrants survived for decades in Big Sky Country, particularly during a time when anti-Chinese sentiment was rampant in the U.S. Next, the team ventures to Kentucky and Ohio to determine whether a movie reel could be one of thousands of silent films that have been lost forever to film history. PAUL MCCARTNEY: ECCE COR MEUM (Behold My Heart) is Sir Paul McCartney's fourth classical release, an oratorio in four movements. ECCE COR MEUM is written in the style of sacred English choral music, a tradition dating back 500 years. Composed in part right after the passing of his wife Linda, the work was eight years in the making and is the first piece of choral music McCartney has written to include a children's chorus. Performed live at the Royal Albert Hall in London, ECCE COR MEUM features Soprano Kate Royal, The King's College Choir of Cambridge; The Magdalen College Choir of Oxford; London Voices; and the Orchestra of The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields conducted by Gavin Greenway.
