Once on stage, Anacani sings "Spanish Eyes," and Clay Hart sings a hit song of the year which became almost a national anthem, "Tie a Yellow Ribbon 'Round the Old Oak Tree." Jaipur, the "Pink City," provided the Mughal Empire with its generals even as its civilians were building some of the world's great temples and palaces. Here travelers find the Hawa Mahal, the Hall of Winds, built with red and pink sandstone. One of Rajasthan's other great cities, Jodhpur, is less know to the world, even though it loaned its name to a style of riding breeches. Maxa goes into the royal rooms behind the sandstone walls of the Mehrangarh Fort, perched high above the city. In the back streets of Jodhpur, cameras find the enormous furniture industry that collects and refurbishes heirloom furniture that make their way to stores around the world. In the dusty countryside outside of Jodhpur, villagers who have never have seen a Westerner invite Rudy Maxa into their modest homes, and the maharajah of Jodhpur explains why his palace is now a hotel. Del's latest moneyspinner (he hopes) are 1,000 musical doorbells which play the National Anthem. Unfortunately 'Long Live Swaziland' is not likely to go down too well in Peckham-- even with Rodney to help shift them in the market (the plonker has lost his job). Raquel, meanwhile, is rehearsing for Shakespeare's "As You Like It". But when she tells Del she has something to tell him, it is not the result of her audition. (Series 7, 2 of 6)
