The second of three episodes in the Galapagos Islands finds host David Yetman hunting large cacti on a desert island. Along the way, he discovers flamingos in the middle of a huge lava lake, ghost crabs (so named for their quick disappearing act), and a variety of plant species endemic to certain islands. Yetman also explores the nesting grounds of sea turtles, and finds a unique post office on the island of Floreana, where pirates and whalers have used the same wooden container for centuries to leave or take mail, depending on its destination. The program also examines the strategies different animal species must employ to cooperate in such close proximity on the islands and how the plant and animal life is impacted by the surrounding climatic forces. Keyboard legend Eddie Palmieri and flute virtuoso Dave Valentin perform and talk with Ramsey Lewis about the genesis of Latin Jazz, from the early days of Xavier Cugat and the rumba, to the Afro-Cuban stylings of Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker (picked up from Latin jazz giants Chano Pozo and Machito), to the great Latin Jazz artists of the 1950s and early '60s, including Chico O'Farrell, Perez Prado, Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, Ray Barretto, Willie Bobo, and more. Next, it's a ride on Europe's most spectacular railway, and a boat cruise through the impossibly beautiful scenery of the fjords. Following court cases and local police departments, the way this technology could revolutionize the legal system is examined. But, even as brain fingerprinting seems poised to be a major step forward, critics are raising scientific, ethical, and legal questions. Japanese Internment Camp Artwork: In a San Francisco historical archive, an intern recently discovered a set of 10 postcard-size watercolors of what appears to be a prison camp. Piecing them together, the intern was surprised to find they were painted on the back of a Japanese-American internment notice from 1942. What is the story behind these paintings? The Lewis and Clark Cane: A Minnesota man has an old wooden cane that the family tale says is one which Meriwether Lewis and William Clark gave to his ancestor, in return for assistance they received during the famous Corps of Discovery expedition. For 57 years the musical group The Four Freshmen has held a featured spot in the world of vocal jazz harmony and yet, the oldest member is only 34. How can that be? Well, The Four Freshmen is a sound more than a group of well-known stars. Their rich sophisticated sound has influenced vocalists for nearly six decades, perhaps best exemplified by the high sweet harmonies of The Beach Boys. Lead singer Brian Eichenberger plays guitar, Curtis Calderon plays trumpet, Bob Ferreira is the drummer and Vince Johnson plays bass trombone. [TVG]

Kaiser Permanente has been a nationwide Health Maintenance Organization. Few people have any idea that it sprang from the mind of one of America's most spectacular entrepreneurs--Henry J. Kaiser. He built the Grand Coulee and Hoover dams, launched more ships than any other builder during World War Two, opened the first steel mill on the West Coast, and introduced quilted "Kaiser Aluminum Foil." In 1945, this legendary California industrialist partnered with automobile executive Joe Frazer, to meet the post-War demand for cars. The resulting Kaiser-Frazer autos were the last real challenge to the dominance of the Big Three. From 1948 to the mid-'50s, Kaiser's incredible energy created a stir that's still being felt today. His passenger cars faded away, but his transformation of the Jeep from the soldiers' buddy to an everyday SUV changed the world. [TVG]
