Keith Murphy

Keith Murphy, who presents "Urban Journal" on XM Satellite Radio, is a veteran of radio programming. Murphy, who co-hosts Black Nouveau, has been producing and hosting radio and television programs for more than 17 years. A native of Washington, D.C., he began his broadcasting career in television in 1988 at WFTY-TV 50 where he produced and hosted Washington Style, a magazine show. He later worked for WOL News-Talk Network in Washington, D.C.

In 2002, he joined the Milwaukee Radio Alliance, owner of WMCS and WJZI, and became the producer and host of "The Morning Magazine" and "The Urban Journal." Under his direction, The Morning Magazine" won the Wisconsin Broadcast Association's 2002 Excellence Award for feature length documentary, "911 One Year Later." He joined XM Satellite Radio in January, 2006.

Both the Urban Journal and The Morning Magazine also were winners of the 2004 Achievement in Radio Award for Excellence.

Faithe Colas, Community Affairs Director for the Salvation Army, is Black Nouveau's other co-host.

"Faithe will bring a valuable perspective to the program through her many connections in the African-American community,” said Ellis Bromberg, MPTV’s general manager. “We look forward to presenting some fascinating and rewarding stories that will reflect her journalistic spirit.”

Colas spent more than 20 years at the Milwaukee Courier as a sales executive, advertising manager, associate publisher, and editor. She was publisher of the weekly African American newspaper for more than three years before joining the Salvation Army in November, 2007. She has been a WMCS radio show panelist and co-hosted “What’s Going On?” on MATA community television.

She is a member of the NAACP Executive Committee, a vice president of the Wisconsin Black Media Association, and active in several other community and professional organizations. Her awards include the US Postal Service “Women Putting Their Stamp on Milwaukee 2002” Award, the Andrew S. Douglas 2003-4 Community Service Award, and a number of other honors.
