If you're looking for outdoor tips, there are plenty on the web.

At the Sports Afield web site there's an on line version of the magazine. Click on field tactics and you'll find a range of information. Find out how to call in wary toms when you're out turkey hunting. Or maybe you're looking for advice about how to pick out a pup. It's all here. With one more click of the mouse you're into the archives. Here you'll find a list of topics you can call up and check out. Other areas on the Sports Afield website include Game Recipes. Dying to whip up "Snowshoe Mexicana"? Or maybe your friends are clamoring for "Mixed Bird Purloo". You'll find 'em here with many others. You'll also find reviews of guns and ammo, tackle and book and video reviews.

Check out the home of the Boone & Crockett Club. It starts with a brief history of the club founded by Teddy Roosevelt. These are the guys that keep the records of trophy game animals. One of the most popular areas is "World Records". With a click you'll find a complete listing of the World Records recognized by Boone & Crockett. If you want to find out if your barren ground caribou is a Booner, you can. But, it better really be something to beat out Roger Hedgecock with his 1987 trophy taken in Alaska. Click on "Trophy Talk" and you'll find the latest news on Boone & Crockett. There is a list of upcoming events as well as updates on the club. If you're looking for inspiration for your next hunt, wondering if there are still trophies to be had out there, check out the "Field Photos". There's a cool area about adventure travel where you can explore Alaska, the Far East, and lots of others.

At www.FWS.gov you'll find the US Fish And Wildlife Service. For up to date info about your area click "Regions" Then just click your place on the map. Then you can go to your state. Once there go to regional office you choose. There's lots of information including other links to various other government agencies. Looking for a way to shop for books on line? As far as selection goes it's tough to top Amazon Books. Like a lot of walk-in bookstores, Amazon will knock 40% off national bestsellers. And they have their own in house list of bestsellers which are discounted too. One cool thing is their search engine. If you're looking for the Jim Harrison book "Just Before Dark" punch in those words, and, you'll see if they have it in stock and how much it will cost. Another neat thing is the "Eyes" section. This handy service tells you when a new book by a favorite author comes out. Or, pick a topic, and you'll get e-mail letting you know when a new book by someone like Gabriel Garcia Marquez is available. You can order right on line with a credit card. Some of the books you might want are listed as "hard to find". At Amazon you can still place your order, and they'll notify you when they've found the book, at what price, and when it can be shipped. All this and more at Amazon Books.
