MPTV Community Cinema: WONDER WOMEN: THE UNTOLD STORY OF AMERICAN SUPERHEROINES

Join us for a free preview that compares the evolution of the 1940's comic book heroine to society's changing view of women. WONDER WOMEN looks at how popular representations of powerful women often reflect society's anxieties about women's liberation. The documentary goes behind the scenes with Lynda Carter, Lindsay Wagner, comic writers and artists, and real-life superheroines.

Following the screening, a panel of experts will be available for questions and discussion. The panel includes Dr. Amy Shapiro, Philosophy professor and co-director of the Women's and Gender Studies program at Alverno College; Lara Stache, a PhD student in communication at UW-Milwaukee, and Phil Rippke, a lecturer with a Master's degree in Communication from UW-Milwaukee.

Street parking at no cost and facility parking for a fee are available. Doors open at 6 pm.
Seating is on a first-come basis.
