University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, 3675 Arboretum Drive, Chanhassen, MN
www.arboretum.umn.edu   A great place to see hardy plants and garden spaces suitable for any Great Lakes landscape.

Boerner Botanical Gardens, 5879 S. 92nd Street, Hales Corners,WI. http://www.boernerbotanicalgardens.org/ Great vistas, old trees and a new visitor center provide the stage for outstanding rose, perennial, annual, herb, and trial gardens.

Stroll through this lovely garden whenever you are in the area.   Just south of I-70, it makes a good stop for gathering ideas.

Inniswood, 940 South Hempstead Road, Westerville, OH (near Columbus). http://www.metroparks.net/inniswood.htm This private estate combines gardens and a nature preserve.  Walking trails will take you past all the gardens and beautiful stops.

Well-known for its beautiful gardens - indoor and out, spectacular fountains, and changing displays.  Plan a visit and be sure to include time for the evening fireworks.
