Workshops 2014

 

MPTV’s Community Engagement Department offers several FREE on-site workshops for children and teachers.

The host site may be asked to provide a DVD player, monitor, and basic materials such as paper, pencils, crayons, markers and scissors.

PBS costumed characters are NOT present at any of the workshops.

Young Writers and Illustrators Workshop

Audience: Parents, child-care providers, teachers, children enrolled in Kindergarten through third grade.
Focus Literacy
Language English
Length 45 to 60 minutes
Attendance: Seating varies per venue.
Description: Participants will learn the basic process of creating an illustrated story. There will be active discussion to help participants identify story and illustration elements. Interactive activities are part of each workshop. Children grades Kindergarten through third grade will be encouraged to enter MPTV’s annual PBS Kids Writers Contest.
