Bernie from Greendale
A very friendly place with great pride in the community. Many hands volunteer to take care of the beautiful flowers on Broad Street and the many activities throughout the year. A great family community.
Holly from Kenosha
The music scene in Kenosha is alive and well...check out Renwood Messenger Recording Studio, and the many venues that offer live music. MAAM (musicians aiding and assisting musicians) is a community association of musicians helping each other, while promoting Kenosha! Good stuff!
Jonathan from Wauwatosa
Part of Wauwatosa’s vibrant community includes North Street between 69th & 70th where there are three businesses that help define our community. Our informal donuts/coffee/pizza is Cranky Al’s; our high end dining is Il Mito, and our local couches–only movie–theater is the Rosebud Cinema Drafthouse. Stop in at all three of these businesses to get a real “slice” of Tosa. I have zero stake in any of these businesses, but really feel they help define our area – and give back through support of many other community activities.
Mel from the Silver City Community
What makes my neighborhood Silver City great? Everything it isn’t. It isn’t pretentious. It isn’t over priced. It’s diversity in people and affordable housing (think East Side stock, with south side price) is what drew my husband and I here almost 30 years ago. Silver City has an active neighborhood organization, it has one of the premier blues clubs (Mamie’s) and an award–winning Asian grocery store. It’s close proximity to downtown, Miller Park, The Henry Aaron State Trail and soon to be built Urban Ecology center make it one of the up and comers. Yes, it’s a work in progress. You should stop by and take a looksee.
