Co-Hosts Caroline Carter and Shenita Ray


Caroline became interested in raw foods in 2005 and lost over 80 lbs simply by integrating uncooked raw plant-based foods into her diet regularly. Caroline's belief in the power of raw foods to heal people from illness and disease encouraged her to become a Certified Raw Chef and Instructor and to start Eden's Market in 2007. Eden's Market's mission is to create healthy food products that taste delicious by using uncooked and whole vegetables, nuts, seeds, herbs, spices, and natural sweetener

Caroline creates delicious raw food recipes by creatively fusing together multiple ingredients with varying textures, spices, and herbs. Many of the recipes are inspired by traditional cooked American meals. On Cooking Raw Caroline and Shenita demonstrate how these dishes can be transformed into heart healthy and delicious meals using no heat and all plant-based ingredients.

Shenita worked with Caroline, her mother, to found Eden's Market and has integrated raw foods into her lifestyle since 2006. Shenita completed her undergraduate and master's degree at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is currently working on completing her PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also works as the Assistant Director of the Distance Learning Center at UW-Platteville.

Shenita loves Cooking Raw because the food is amazingly delicious and satisfying, the recipes are simple and easy to prepare, and the food makes you feel so good!

Eden's Market currently sells handmade flax seed crackers, granola, dips, smoothies, and salad dressings at Beans and Barley, the Riverwest Co-op, and the Riverwest Yogashayla. Products can also be found at several farmers' markets in Milwaukee County throughout the summer: Vliet Street, Bayview, Beans and Barley, and Wauwatosa.
