VACATION
STATION is a summer project of Milwaukee Public Television that
encourages children aged 6 to 12 to make the best use of their
summer vacation.
An activity magazine is distributed free of charge to children
at libraries, recreation centers and youth-serving community organizations
in southeastern Wisconsin.
Children may become members of the VACATION STATION Action Club
by competing the registration form inside the magazine and mailing
it to Milwaukee Public Television. Members will receive Action
Club kits, while supplies last. Channels 10&36 Kids Klub members
are automatically enrolled.
To encourage summer reading, each kit contains a book review form.
Entries are eligible for a drawing for free books and other surprises
in September. An art contest invites children to draw or paint
a picture based on the summer magazine theme. Artwork is judged
and prizes awarded in September. Guidelines for the contests are
always found on the inside back cover of the magazine.
Programs in the MPTV, Channel 36 VACATION STATION lineup are selected
to peak the interests of children looking for worthwhile entertainment
during their summer break.
