Adelante Explores Risks for Immigrants

¡Adelante!--Milwaukee Public Television's Spanish language weekly program for Latinos--will explore the effects of local immigration laws in the first program of its ninth season, Tuesday, Sept. 11, on Milwaukee Public Television (MPTV-10) at 6:30 p.m.
Karyn Rotker from the Wisconsin Civil Liberties Union will discuss the risks imposed on immigrants and the civil rights of all citizens. The program will include an update on Waukegan leaders who oppose local ordinances that permit police officers to act as immigration agents.
The program also will feature interviews with members of the Latin Jazz Band, Tiempo Libre.
¡Adelante! airs weekly on Tuesdays on MPTV-10 at 6:30 p.m. and repeats on Channel 36 the same evening at 12:30 a.m. and Sundays at 5:30 p.m. Patricia Gomez is the host and producer. It is also rebroadcast at 9:30 p.m. on MPTV digital channel 10-1 (Time-Warner 550). The program is broadcast with English captions. English portions are subtitled in Spanish.
