MPTV Joins On Demand
May 3, 2007
Local Milwaukee Public Television series such as I Remember and Outdoor Wisconsin are now available free to television audiences on Time Warner Cable's Wisconsin on Demand (WIoD) digital channel 1111.
Most of MPTV's locally produced programming is on WIoD for one week after it premieres on public television, said Ellis Bromberg, MPTV's general manager. Viewers can choose from a menu of programs and view them at their convenience on Time Warner Cable channel 1111.
"MPTV On Demand is another way for us to offer our special brand of quality television to the public," said Bromberg. "Watching our programs `on demand' is a valuable option to viewers who, because of their busy schedules, miss the broadcasts."
"Time Warner Cable is delighted to partner with MPTV to provide our on demand technology so that we can make the quality programming from MPTV available for our digital cable customers at their convenience," said Bev Greenberg, Vice President Public Affairs, Time Warner Cable.
Other MPTV series replaying on digital channel 1111 are International Focus, Tracks Ahead, Black Nouveau, 4th Street Forum, Great Lakes Gardener, Interchange, and Adelante! Some specials, such as Redefining Smart, also will air on "MPTV On Demand."
MPTV On Demand is one of a number of new services, special events and local programs commemorating Milwaukee Public Television's 50th anniversary. Since its inception, MPTV has educated, entertained and inspired. Today, viewers enjoy a broad choice of quality programs on MPTV-10, MPTV-36, MPTV-HD and an array of digital services.
MPTV is a viewer-supported service of Milwaukee Area Technical College.
