MPTV Emmy Awards

Milwaukee Public Television's five-hour series tracing the community's history, The Making of Milwaukee, won two Emmys Sunday for outstanding achievement from the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
The 2006-2007 awards were presented at a ceremony in Chicago. Bill Werner, executive producer of The Making of Milwaukee, along with producers John Gurda and Claudia Looze, received an Emmy in the Documentary Programs-Documentary of Historic Significance category.
Maurice Wininsky, music composer and arranger for the documentary, received an Emmy for Individual Excellence Off Camera: Music composition/Arrangement.
Produced in high definition, The Making of Milwaukee is based on the book, "The Making of Milwaukee." The historical volume was authored by John Gurda, one of the producers of the documentary. The television program brought MPTV some of its highest ratings in recent years.
