Frinzi Interview Replays

February 25, 2008

An interview with Dominic Frinzi and Mario Carini about the city's Italian community will be repeated on I Remember at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 3, on Milwaukee Public Television (MPTV-10). The program originally aired May 10, 1997.

Frinzi, who died Jan. 28, was a former president of the Italian Community Center. Carini was a historian at the center. They describe the early families, traditions, and businesses--such as the produce wholesalers on Commission Row--of the Third Ward's Italian population.

Frinzi was an attorney for 60 years, ran twice for governor, served as a board member for the Florentine Opera Company and the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, and pursued other civic interests. The Italian government made him a Knight of the Order of Merit for his work in Milwaukee's Italian community.

The host for I Remember Milwaukee is talk show veteran Jim Peck, currently a senior advancement officer at Marquette University.
