IR Replays Oulahan Interview

An interview with Richard Oulahan, the former executive director of Esperanza Unida, will be replayed on I Remember Monday, June 30, at 6:30 p.m. on Milwaukee Public Television (MPTV-10). The program originally aired May 3, 2004. Oulahan died May 9.

He joined Esperanza Unida in 1973. The organization expanded from helping workers injured on the job to providing a variety of job-related services including training in auto repair, construction work, and computer skills.

The Esperanza Unida International Building on 6th Street and W. National Avenue has been home to El Puente, an alternative high school for at-risk students as well as a bookstore and coffee shop.

I Remember presents guests who share their personal recollections about the Milwaukee area as well as other places and events. The program hosts politicians, entertainers, sports figures, authors and individuals from a variety of other backgrounds.

I Remember repeats on MPTV-36 on Tuesdays at 12:30 a.m. The host for I Remember is talk show veteran Jim Peck, currently a senior advancement officer at Marquette University.
