Milwaukee, WI -- MPTV Community Cinema presents HEALTHCARE: THE WISCONSIN PRESCRIPTION, a new documentary in which MPTV Producer Everett Marshburn explores how the lack of affordable healthcare impacts real people facing serious healthcare challenges. A man with multiple sclerosis, and a young cancer survivor--both without health insurance share their stories. State Senators Karen Vinehout and Glenn Grothman are also interviewed.

Following the screening is a discussion with panelists Karen Timberlake, secretary of Health Services for Wisconsin; Marilyn Frenn, associate professor at Marquette University School of Nursing; Perry Margoles, president Immediate Care Center in Milwaukee; and Tom Oliver, associate professor of Medicine and Public Health at UW Madison.

The presentation begins Wednesday, December 10, at 7:00 p.m., at Discovery World Innovation Theatre, 500 N. Harbor Drive, Milwaukee. Attendance at this monthly series is free and open to the public.

MPTV Community Cinema is a monthly film screening series showcasing selected documentaries from the award-winning PBS series, INDEPENDENT LENS, and local documentary features produced by Milwaukee Public Television or docUWM.
