New 13-Hour Line-up for Weekday Kids' Show

February 1, 2009

Milwaukee, WI - Parents have a choice of 19 non-violent, content-rich, age-appropriate programs for their children on MPTV each weekday. MPTV has updated its 13-hour line-up into new timeslots beginning February 2, to reflect its audience viewership and the new PBS's digital feed schedule. SESAME STREET continues to air twice a day at 7 and 11 a.m., and MISTER ROGERS stays at noon.

According to independent research and advocacy organization Children Now, a carefully-selected schedule can boost the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical areas of a child's development. Outreach programs like MPTV's Reader/Writer Workshops, Reading Rainbow contest, and Vacation Station summer activity program, and the PBSKids interactive website extend the educational value of its children's programs beyond the TV screen. Programs on MPTV 10.1 include: MAYA, BETWEEN THE LIONS, ARTHUR/POST CARDS, MARTHA SPEAKS, SUPER WHY!, CLIFFORD, CURIOUS GEORGE, SID, DRAGON TALES, WORD WORLD, BARNEY, CAILOU, IT'S A BIG BIG WORLD, WORD GIRL, FETCH, CYBERCHASE, AND and SADDLE CLUB.

Since its inception, MPTV has educated, entertained and inspired. Today, MPTV offers viewers a family of channels to choose from, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. MPTV is a viewer-supported service of Milwaukee Area Technical College.
