Community Cinema: ARUSI PERSIAN WEDDING, 2/12 at 7 P.M.

Milwaukee, WI -- MPTV Community Cinema presents ARUSI PERSIAN WEDDING, a new documentary by Iranian-American filmmaker Marjan Tehrani which examines the turbulent relations between America and Iran through the experiences of her brother and his new American bride as they bring their parents together in a tense meeting and return to Iran for a traditional Persian wedding. The one-hour, free, public screening and follow-up discussion will be held Thursday, February 12, at 7 p.m., at the Discovery World Innovation Theatre, 500 N. Harbor Drive, Milwaukee.
MPTV General Manager Ellis Bromberg will host the evening. The discussion will be led by Ms. Inshirah Farhoud, a Muslim Palestinian who has lived in the Milwaukee area for over 40 years. She is currently a board member of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Muslim Women's Coalition. Ms Farhoud works as a nurse practitioner with the Medical College of Wisconsin. She received her Bachelor's degree from Alverno College and her Master's degree from Marquette University.
MPTV Community Cinema is a monthly film screening series showcasing selected documentaries from the award-winning PBS series, INDEPENDENT LENS, and local documentary features produced by Milwaukee Public Television.
