April 2, 2009
Milwaukee, WI -- MPTV Community Cinema presents a free, public, premiere screening of CRIPS AND BLOODS: MADE IN AMERICA on Thursday, April 9, at 7 p.m., at the Discovery World Innovation Theatre, 500 North Harbor Drive. A panel discussion follows this investigation of LA's most notorious gangs.
Directed by critically acclaimed documentary filmmaker Stacy Peralta and executive produced by NBA star Baron Davis and Silicon Valley entrepreneur Stephen Luczo, CAB:MIA tells the story of the Crips and Bloods, South LA's two most infamous and violent African-American gangs. Combining unprecedented access into the worlds of active gangs, the film offers a compelling, character-driven documentary narrative which chronicles the decades-long cycle of destruction and despair that defines modern gang culture. Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker narrates.
The panelists for the discussion include former Milwaukee Police Department Gang Squad Officer Antonio Guajardo. MPTV Production Director Raul Galvan hosts.
