MPTV Community Cinema Previews

Milwaukee, WI -- "It's under our feet and under our fingernails, but what is it? And how did it get there? Inspired by William Bryant Logan's acclaimed book Dirt: The Ecstatic Skin of the Earth." DIRT! THE MOVIE by Bill Benenson and Gene Rosow looks at how industrial farming, mining, and urban development have led us toward cataclysmic droughts, starvation, floods, and climate change. Dirt is a part of everything we eat, drink and breathe.

The March 4th MPTV Community Cinema - at Discovery World - presents a preview and panel discussion on this very dirty "green" topic. The free preview begins at 6:30 pm and is followed by an exchange of ideas by panel and audience members. Panelists are:

Sharon Morrisey, Consumer Horticulture Agent, Milwaukee County UW-Extension
Jamie Ferschinger, Community Program Coordinator, Urban Ecology Center
Sarah Christman, Milwaukee Operations Manager, Growing Power

Admission to MPTV's monthly screenings is open to the public. Lot parking is $1. Discovery World is located at 500 North Harbor Drive (just south of the Milwaukee Art Museum.

The full program will broadcast on MPTV 10.1 HD in May or June. At writing air date not yet scheduled.
