Milwaukee, WI (September 8, 2010) - Award-winning producers Everett L. Marshburn and Liddie Collins are kicking off the 19th season of BLACK NOUVEAU, MPTV's long running series that explores the history, heritage, culture, and challenges of the African-American experience in Southeastern Wisconsin, the nation and the world, on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 6:30 p.m., on 10.1 HD & 36.2 SD. Episodes repeat on 36.1 on Thursdays at 12:30 a.m. and Sundays at 4:00 p.m. and are available online after air date at

Faithe Colas and Milton Dockery host this weekly series. The season premiere features an interview with Dr. Gregory E. Thornton, new head of MPS; a look back at this summer's AfroFest, African World Fest, and Juneteenth Day; an update on America's Black Holocaust Museum; and a profile of musician Harvey Scales of Harvey Scales and The Seven Sounds.

Since its inception, MPTV has educated, entertained and inspired. Today MPTV offers viewers a family of high definition and standard definition digital channels to choose from, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. MPTV is a viewer-supported service of Milwaukee Area Technical College.
