OUTDOOR WISCONSIN RECEIVES FOUR WRITING ASSOCIATION AWARDS

Milwaukee, WI (September 29, 2010) - MPTV's longest running local production, OUTDOOR WISCONSIN, now in its 26th season, was honored at the 2010 Conference of the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers, in Ashland, Wisconsin, September 13-16, with four awards for best of television video. Dan Small, OUTDOOR WISCONSIN host; Jack Abrams, producer; and Michael Garvin, senior videographer for the hunting segment, were honored for their work. On October 14, MPTV 10.1 will broadcast a new special HABITAT DESTRUCTION ON THE GULF COAST: An OUTDOOR WISCONSIN Report. The special examines the impact of the Deepwater Horizon oil disaster and 70 years of dredging the Mississippi River. Experts talk about the damage to Louisiana's Gulf Coast and explain how the Upper Midwest is affected. A detailed look is also taken at how management of the Mississippi River, its tributaries and distributaries have resulted in the destruction of nearly one-third of the Louisiana Gulf Coast's, and three million acres of wetlands in one lifetime.

MPTV is a viewer-supported service of Milwaukee Area Technical College; and since its inception, MPTV has educated, entertained and inspired. Today MPTV offers viewers a family of 10 digital channels to choose from, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
