Accused of rampant corruption, imprisoned, then exiled abroad, Bhutto was called back to Pakistan as her country's best hope for democracy. Struck down by assassins, her untimely death sent shock waves throughout the world, transforming Bhutto from political messiah to martyr in the eyes of millions worldwide. This special 75- minute version of the film from Duane Baughman and Johnny O'Hara for INDEPENDENT LENS is followed by an open discussion.

A Sneak Peek of Freedom Riders: An AMERICAN EXPERIENCE

This half-hour documentary produced by MPTV's Everett Marshburn shares the experiences of local citizens who participated in the turbulent 1960s that changed the United States. This cinema also includes a sneak peek of the AMERICAN EXPERIENCE production of Freedom Riders in which an integrated band of college students decided to risk everything and buy tickets on a Greyhound bus bound for the Deep South. They called themselves the Freedom Riders, and they managed to bring President Kennedy and the American public face-to-face with the challenge of correcting civil rights inequities.

Panel includes: Clayborn Benson, head of the Wisconsin Black Historical Society and Peggy Rozga, widow of Father James Groppi.
