MPTV's WORLD to Carry State of the Union Address

January 11, 2012

President Obama's State of the Union address will be carried live on Milwaukee Public Television's World channel (MPTV 10.2) Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 8 p.m. The address will also air in the PBS NewsHour repeat slot on MPTV HD 36.1 at 10:30 p.m.

The PBS NewsHour will provide up to two hours of the President's remarks and the Republican response. The annual address to a joint session of Congress traditionally includes the President's legislative agenda and goals for the nation as well as a report on the country's progress.

WORLD, featuring documentary, public affairs, and news programming, is one of nine broadcast services in MPTV's standard definition line-up. It is available over the air and on cable television. MPTV's high definition channels, 10.1 and 36.1, will offer their usual programming on Jan. 24.
