Test Kitchen Hosts Tasty MPTV Evening
October 3, 2012
AMERICA'S TEST KITCHEN, the most-watched cooking show on public television, will hold taste tests and demonstrations at the Milwaukee Public Market Palm Garden, 400 N. Water St., Thursday, Oct. 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The program's host, Christopher Kimball, and on-air test cook Bridget Lancaster will lead the event. The evening is open to the public. Tickets will be $50 and include a Milwaukee Public Television one-year membership. Tickets for MPTV members will be $45.
Each week, the cast of America's Test Kitchen brings the recipes, testings, and tastings from Cook's Illustrated magazine to life. The program is currently in its twelfth season and has more than 2 million viewers per episode. It airs Saturdays at 4 p.m. on MPTV HD 10.1.
Each episode features recipes carefully developed to make sure that they work every time. Christopher Kimball and the test cooks solve everyday cooking problems, test equipment so that viewers never have to waste money on things that don't work, and taste supermarket ingredients to save time in the store. It's a common-sense, practical approach not found on other cooking shows.
The Public Market presentation will include audience participation, a preview of AMERICA's TEST KITCHEN and COOK'S COUNTRY SEASON 5. Kimball and Lancaster will autograph copies of the new "Cook's Illustrated--The Science of Good Cooking Cookbook." To obtain the cookbook, please order it separately for $35 when making a reservation. Call 414-297-8003 or email email@example.com.
