Local Bars to Host Premiere Parties During Airing of Film

MILWAUKEE, Wis., November 5, 2012 - Milwaukee Public Television will air Bottoms Up: Wisconsin's Historic Bars and Breweries, a look at Wisconsin's storied bar and brewing history, on Monday, November 12 at 8:00 p.m. on MPTV 10.1 HD and 36.2.

Several establishments throughout MPTV's viewing area will be highlighted. Of these, Best Place Pub in Milwaukee, Legend Larry's in Sheboygan, and DMZ Bunker in Waterford will be hosting premiere parties during the airing of the show.

This one-hour documentary is based upon the Wisconsin Historical Society Press book "Bottoms Up: A Toast to Wisconsin's Historic Bars & Breweries" by Jim Draeger and Mark Speltz. Both the documentary and the book explore the architecture and social history of Wisconsin's bars and breweries.

Bottoms Up: Wisconsin's Historic Bars and Breweries will be re-broadcast at 3:00 a.m. on November 14 and at 9:00 p.m. on November 15 on MPTV 10.1 HD and 36.2, and at 10:30 p.m. on November 17 and at 9:00 p.m. on November 19 on MPTV 36.1.
