MPTV's Mittens and More Collects Record Number of Donated Items for Families in Need

November 8, 2012

MILWAUKEE, Wis., November 8, 2012 - Milwaukee Public Television's 5th annual Mittens & More community service drive collected 4,160 mittens, gloves, hats and scarves. Almost 90% of the items were hand knit, crocheted or sewn. The estimated value of these items is $33,000. This year, donations increased by 13%--the most donations received in the project's five year history.

MPTV will distribute the collected items to 36 selected agencies in southeastern Wisconsin in early November. These agencies will distribute the items, free of charge, to families in need.
