The impact of the economic crisis on the people of Janesville, WI is traced, starting with the day the GM factory closed in 2008. The film records three years in the lives of laid-off workers, business leaders and elected officials all trying to reinvent their lives and their town. The story continues through a standoff between the newly-elected governor and 14 Democratic state senators. Brad Lichtenstein’s film goes to the front lines of America's debate over the future of its middle class.
