Jeff and Cheryl Boden, of West Union Gardens in Hillsboro, OR, grow over 25 types of berries, vegetables, and herbs on their once-rural farm. Today, their fields lie on the urban fringe, providing an opportunity for the Bodens to encourage the local non-farming community to visit the farm and partake in the daily picking. Recipes: Sauteed Summer Squash with Wild Salmon; and Summer Salad with Shallots and Berries. First program in a 13-part season.
